Frisko Freeze in Tacoma

It's got that old 50 's dinner feeling I prey it will never change my parent went there as teenagers, I go there now and bring my kids there too it's a part of our family tradition we all love it.

I'd give it 5 stars but the drive thru was a disaster. The food was good and I'd go back, well worth the price but its 15-20 minutes a car in the drive thru. Their drive thru system seems very outdated and needs some updating. Next time I will make sure to visit the walk up window where it was noticeably quicker to get your food.

I mean it was ok. The service was good and pretty fast. Food wise the fries were super good but the burger was just ok. We also had a Wild Cherry milk shake it was good too.

Burgers taste good but the burger patty is THIN and for the price you could go else where for just as much and as good...in my opinion. Also, the workers, once they've taken your order and money, are so oblivious to you. I tried getting their attention by waving, knocking on the window and honking my horn and was never able to get their attention until my order was being brought to me.

Amazing joint! Fresh cooked to order food, fresh fries, amazing service. Just moved to Tacoma, will be here quite a bit!

This place was hyped up by my girlfriend big time, so we went while visiting Seattle. The burgers are meh at best. McDonald's thin patties overcooked to well done. Frozen Onion rings with little taste. Milk shake that was almost tasteless. And VERY expensive to top it all off. I guess if you grew up eating this stuff the nostalgia value would be good, but for me, is say go spend your money at thousands of places where you can get a decent burger & pass this place up.

Classic greasy burger joint. Did not disappoint. Burger was tasty and the onion rings were perfectly cooked.

Example of first impressions matter, sat in drive through for 10 minutes without even seeing an attendant in the window for two cars in front of us. In those ten minutes 3 people walked off from regular ordering window with a long wait line and one order called. We always guessed this was a busy place, now it just seems slow.

They have an amazing Burgers no I should just say food there including shakes and service isn't too bad for waiting for your food cuz they're always so packed because the foods that good......lol

Feels like years ago. Back in the day . Cecil's in California, was like this. Great Burgers. Delicious onion rings. And yummy cones. Always busy. But worth it. A bit pricey now. But who isn't now.

They put to many onions on the burgers and not enough meat. They used to be a large grease burger. Now its a thin onion patty. Good food, just not like it was at all back when I was growing up.

It's tasty, but call ahead for your food, and orders, it's a bit of a wait.

Requested beef burgers no cheese NO onions. Had massive amount of onions. Not bad burgers. Just not as good as they used to be.

This place has gone down the drain. I gave it several tries and it’s been consistently bad. Not sure what’s going on in there, but it seems like a bunch of teenagers who don’t really care about what they’re doing are running the joint. They have awful customer service/manners & get our order wrong over and over. And don’t get me started on the outrageous wait times with a short customer line. This is unfortunately no longer a tacoma staple for me.

Omg frisko freeze is always sooooooo good. So much better than McDonald's and same price. Plus frisko Freeze's patties are all beef so you feel full when your done and not that yucky kinda full McDonald's gives you.

Their hamburgers always taste great...been going here over 50 years!

Cheeseburger was average and the fries had a fishy taste. I think they deep fry everything in the same grease

The burgers are always fresh off of the grill and the fries are steaming hot, the shakes and malts are delicious! Love the “throwback” aesthetic of this burger joint, definitely outshines any other burger you could get in the area by far! There is a bit of a wait, but the wait is more than worth it! For those who are coming from Cali, In-n-out is the closest comparison and this joint may even have them beat! 10/10 recommend!

Great food! Don't let the look of the building scare you

I have known about Frisko Freeze since 1984. I periodically go there. I went years eating chicken & fish so didn't do hamburgers much. So haven't went in years. Decided to take the girlfriend & her 5 year old grandson there. Even with social distancing. Everything was so tasty & awesome. Loved the double cheese burgers. Juicy & very tasty. Nothing really over powered anything. Everything complimented each other. There fries had enough salt on them to make them oh so awesome. They both loved it for their 1st experience there. Keep up the great work & tasty food Frisco Freeze. If you never tried them, have to experience it

Waited 30 minutes for two chocolate shakes. Had to ask to get them after they rolled well past calling our order number. Smells great. Needs better kitchen management to get the food rolling out the door.

It's a classic burger joint with the best black cherry shakes. I was thrilled they had a veggie burger option. It's also the staff there that bring a smile with the order! Made to order, so be patient and enjoy the moment!

Great food. Their malts are the best. They taste amazing no matter what flavor you get. The only downside is if you go during meal times there is bound to be a 20 minute or so wait, but is totally worth it. If you want some of the best american food this is the place to go.

45 minute wait. One simple request. No mayo. After the 45 minutes i got my burger and mayo all over it. First time here probably my last. I didn't even have to wait this long at in n out when i lived in cali. They always had my order right.

Really expensive for meh food. Got a strawberry shake and it tasted like vanilla with a pink hue. Not impressed.

Good burger and excellent fries. Pretty fast too even though they were really busy. Lost a star because they were out of most milkshake flavors. And I was there at 1pm

An old fashioned hamburger stand, you can get a lot of food for a fairly small price. The burgers are perfectly seasoned and can be generally customized to your liking. Everything is assembled to order (though the burger patties are always on the griddle) and it feels like they made it for you. It does take a bit longer than most fast food places, but it is worth the wait.

Love the food here! Would be a 5 star review but the customer service is slacking. Not very friendly or outgoing. But overall the food is great!

Frisco Freeze is the best burger place EVER! My family and I love this place so much, we can never get enough of it. Always worth the wait. Frisco Freeze has always been and will forever be my favorite burger joint.

The longest wait ever. Who cares how good it is when you wait over 45 minutes for a burger, onion rings a shake. Won't return, won't recommend.

I was pleasantly surprised by the absolutely delicious and simple burgers here. Get the double cheeseburger with bacon. You will not regret it. The shakes are nothing to write home about and they're overly sweet. Also expect to eat in your car when you come here. The onion rings are delicious with the tartar sauce. Definitely better than any other "comparable" burger than I've ever had.

Incredibly rude employees taking and handing out the orders. Once the food was received it was greasily slid into a paper bag and promptly slid apart. Essentially had to eat my burger in pieces out of the bag because of the mess. I wouldn't recommend this place when there are so many other places around. Redeeming feature was their fries weren't bad.

Wow! One of the best burgers I’ve ever tried! It has a style of a burger place from 60s which gives you a great and cozy vibe. Burgers are simple yet so delicious! Double bacon cheeseburger is unbelievable! Worth bringing your date here to taste it 🤤

This place used to be one of the best burger joints in Tacoma. Recently, the fast food there tasted blah. I was a little disappointed.

Fantastic old fashion simple burger shredded lettuce and fixed onions. Enough moisture to drip and be wonderfully messy. Best hangover medicine with a shake. Thank you may I have another.

Good, messy burger and fish and chips, awesome onion rings. The ice cream cones looked wonderful and the people eating them said they were. Reasonable prices and fast service.

Yummy! Not the fastest service in the world, but is a historic landmark for Tacoma and has great burgers!

That's the place to get a great pick up meal, I've been eating at the freeze for over thirty years now so we shared it with our granddaughter, who's 7 years old.

Long waits. Bland food. I got fish and chips and the fish wasn't cooked well and just tasted bleh. The fries were okay but oily. My husband's shake was like vanilla ice cream and not chocolate. His burger was small. Expensive as well. The wait was almost an hour. Don't go there. A waste of time and money. McDonald's is way better. .

Frisko Freeze is literally a landmark. They offer an A+ west coast style burger. As a native New Yorker my family in Tacoma has told me about this location for years. It does not disappoint. Gives In & Out a good run for their money. Love the Frisko. I highly recommend the double cheese burgers!

Cheeseburger was good. Didn’t like the fried, too crispy/fried, too much salt. Loved the cherry/chocolate shake. +30 min wait at 2pm on a Sunday. Great service.
